WOW!!! What a week! As most of you know, Rick and I traveled back up to Sacramento on New Years Eve. We had plans to spend the rest of our vacation relaxing and finishing up on a few projects here at home before going back to work. About an hour after arriving home, we received a frantic call from my dad saying that my mom and grandfather were in a car accident. I immediately booked a flight back down to San Diego to be with them. Both are doing fine...for more background information please look at previous posts.
I am back up in Sacramento. This week I have been thinking a lot about the accident and how blessed we are that both my mom and grandpa are safe and healthy. I realize that this event occurs everyday, and sadly many people lose loved ones in an instant. I am so grateful!!!
So...for 2010, my main goal is to continually be grateful for things. So often, I focus on the negative...I forget to find the good things in the situation and go through the day grumbling and whining...completely ridiculous, but it's true. I am a baby...
But for this year, I am going to find a positive side to every situation. I found a wonderful verse tonight that fits perfectly with my resolution:
"Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it. We may receive it gladly, with thankful hearts." 1 Timothy 4:4
