Happy 5 Months Will!

William you are ADORABLE!!!  You are smiling, laughing, and still chewing on your hands like they are candy!  You are still exclusively breast feeding...we are waiting a bit for the solid foods (probably will start around 6 months.)  You are on a pretty good schedule, eating every 3 hours.  You still wake up about twice a night.  I don't know your exact weight, but I am guessing it is between 14.5 and 15 pounds.  Your next appointment isn't until the 5th of July (6 mos check up) so we will have a more accurate number on that post.   I do notice that you are getting more rolls on your cute little legs and there are now little dimples on your elbows...I just want to eat you up!  Your eczema, unfortunately, is still on your tummy and back.  It has definitely cleared up a lot, but we are still putting moisturizer on you morning and night and only give baths twice a week.
You visited your future daycare.  You watched the kids playing and smiled at your teachers.  I can tell that you are going to love being with other children.  You are still so alert and interested in the world around you.
This month of May marked a few more "firsts" including riding in the baby bjorn (carrier) facing out, sleeping with your arms free (no more swaddle), rolling over from back to front and front to back in one day (at Auntie Mandy's house) first camping trip and boat ride(Lake Cachuma) with Grandma and Grandpa, and so much more!!!
You took your second trip down to so cal to visit family.  It was Grandpa's 60th birthday Surprise party!  Great Auntie Linda was in town from Nebraska to celebrate!  She LOVED meeting you...Mommy loved to watch her rock you and sing songs to you...She sounds just like your Great Grandma Meacham.
You had your first trip to the church nursery (Great Grandma Oshima was working that morning) but you slept in your carrier the whole time.  :)  Mommy had her first Mothers Day...so special with you here!!!  We spent the day at church and then to Uncle Randy's for brunch.
You are definitely in the "grabby" phase: you reach and grab for necklaces, mugs, hair, etc.  You now LOVE being on your tummy and immediately roll over if we lay you down on your back.  This happens now when we lay you down to sleep...you are just like your mommy and Grandma: a "tummy sleeper."  We do notice that you sleep longer this way...(7 hours is your record so far!).
You still LOVE your jumpy gym although your legs are still not long enough so the  photo album remains under you so you can jump!  You are now turning around in it to look at all of the toys, pressing buttons, and jumping high!  You still love "Turt" the turtle, sophie the giraffe, Freddie the Firefly, and of course, your favorite dog: Riley.
We have always noticed how calm you are, but this month we realize that you REALLY ARE A GOOD BABY!  Daddy and I call you "Chill Will."  You go to anyone without a fuss, lay on your own on your blanket to play, and so far, you tolerate your car seat...even long trips in the car!
You are still in a size 2 diaper and 6 month clothing.  You take about 3 naps a day (a quick nap right after waking, a 1-2 hour nap in the late morning, and a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.)  You go to bed between 6 and 6:30pm.
Baby Will, you are the light in our eyes.  We love you so much!
